The Soup Kitchen began in 1984 by providing a warm, nutritious evening meal for those who are unable to meet their daily needs - no questions asked. The ministry has expanded from one to four services a week, Wednesday through Saturday 5:30 to 6:30 PM and serves over 2700 meals each month by teams of dedicated volunteers from Christian parishes all over Lake County.
Working in the well-equipped kitchen, volunteers use their culinary skills or just their willingness to help with food preparation and serve guests with a warm welcome. Volunteer's hours vary, usually from two to four, depending upon their availability
